From Faye Holden:

On Sunday at the Northern league James Blackburn broke 1 club record and equalled another:

He bettered his own record in the Triple Jump with a leap of 13.19m and he also equalled a long standing record of 1.80m in the High Jump, he only narrowly missed clearing a height of 1.82m.

Neng competed in his first senior league match and performed very well getting 2 personal bests in the 100m and Triple Jump and only narrowly missing his pb in the long jump.  Definitely an athlete to consider for future league meetings.

Remi competed in only his second senior league match and ran well, competing in both the 100m and 200m.

Zac stepped up and competed in all 4 throwing events along with Alan.  Both throwers performing well and scoring good points despite the disruption due to a problem with the throwing cage.

Having recorded a significant pb in the 100m the previous day, Bryce competed over his favoured distance of 400m at this meeting.

Adam had a reasonable run in the 800m and then ran good legs in both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m.

Eleanor had a good run in the 400m bettering her time from the last match by 2 seconds.  She backed this up with good performances in both the 100m, where she again ran faster than previously, and the Javelin.

Katy competed in the 100m and 200m, recording faster times than the last match in both events and scoring good points for the team.

Laura competed weel in the 100m hurdles coming second in her race.  She also jumped well in the triple jump to score good points and followed this with a good performance against tough opposition in the 400m before running a great opening legs in both the 4 x 400m and 4 x 100m.

A special thank you to Katy who saved the day and ran in the 4 x 400m relay at the last minute to allow Eleanor to remain in the Javelin competition which was running late.

In this league we are amalgamated with Burnley and athletes from Burnley also competed.

Unfortunately we had a couple of good athletes missing and therefore didn’t score as many points as we have done previously.  We finished 6th at this meeting.

Thank you to all athletes who competed.
