A slow start to the day for Pendle athletes, having only a James Blackburn Silver for Triple Jump to show for the morning’s endeavours. However when the wind started to blow in the afternoon they appeared to feel more at home and the medals started to roll in.

Pendle were well served by Helena Leathley picking up a couple of Golds (including a Championship best in the 2k Steeplechase), as did Leah, with Joe Lonsdale adding Silver and Neng running well picking up Bronze in the 200m.

Again a  special mention goes to Derek and his throwers who picked up 4 Golds today with Zac (throwing a new club record of 47m+) and Gregan, following Leah’s example in the javelin.

If success is measured by the number of medals won, then the 14 Pendle athletes who competed this weekend returned home with a total of 21 medals 11 of  them giving the athlete the Lancashire title.

Well done everyone
