Please let your members know that parking for the Mid Lancs Cross-Country
on Saturday 10 December at Astley Park is at the big back car park, post
code PR7 1XA. (reached by M61J8, the B5252, Chancery Road and Hallgate in
Astley Village).

There is nearer parking but this is limited to Officials and a few of the
club members carrying the heavy tents and is insufficient to take anyone
else.

Please remember that we are meeting at Pendle Vale School at 7pm this Monday 5th December.  We will stay at the school until March except when it is closed.

Meet inside the foyer but train outside, so come well wrapped up with hats and gloves!

A good Pendle turnout for the latest round of the Red Rose.  Full results on http://www.redrosecrosscountry.co.uk/

The next cross country is the large Mid Lancs race at Sefton Park, Liverpool on Saturday 26th November.  This is a great chance to watch international athletes competing at one of the major cross country events of the year.  You may want to car share and the Club policy is that a contribution to petrol money should always be made.

The school has informed us that the sports hall is unavailable on Monday 28th November.  For that week the Young Athlete Group will be cancelled and the endurance squad will meet at Seedhill Track.

This was the last race in the junior inter pennine club champs and was held in good weather albeit very muddy.

Championship results aren’t out yet but will be on http://www.felljunior.org.uk/index.php.  Race results are on http://www.todharriers.co.uk/

The outstanding result was James Marchant who won his U14 race

In the seniors Lucy Alderman continued her senior fell running career with a great run on a route that was very tricky due to the eroded paths.  There was a record senior field of 357 runners.

Thanks to those club officials who helped run this event.  Part of our commitment to the Mid Lancs League is that we host races.  Pendle doesn’t have a venue with enough parking so we co host with others normally at Townely Park.  All races are organised by volunteers!

Results now on http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2011/ml111.pdf  Kai Atkins picked up a great 2nd place having led for quite a long time.  The U13 boys picked up first place with Tiarnan placing 2nd.

Remember to keep your race numbers for future races (apart from Liverpool which has different numbers).  Photos courtesy of Richard Marchant.

The U13 boys triumphed at the race on Saturday at Hyndburn winning their age group.  Tiarnan came 3rd and Matthew 4th.  In the other races Kai Atkins came 2nd in his race.  Results are at http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2011/rr112.htm

The next cross country is this Saturday just down the road at Towneley Park, Burnley.  It would be great to see a large club turnout – the Mid Lancs league is the main cross country event for the Club.  Any questions please ask one of the coaches.  Remember that numbers are collected from Club officials not the league secretary; we will be based somewhere near the other club tents.

A good Pendle turnout today at Penistone Quarry for the first race of Woodentops season.  Results are at http://www.woodentops.org.uk/assets/results/11withins.pdf  Well done to Lucy on completing the tough senior race in a time of 64 minutes coming in 223rd place out of 321 senior finishers.  In my initial report I hadn’t picked up that Ruby Schofield won the U10 girls, I was running during the junior presentation, well done Ruby.  There were 170 junior runners!

This is a picture of just some of the Pendle runners.

Last year Paul gave notice that he intended to step down as Chairman after 5 years in the chair.

If anyone is interested in taking on this role please could they let Paul know as soon as possible  He will provide support and advice to anyone taking on the role.  You do not need to be an existing committee member to take on this role (Paul wasn’t).
