A great day out was had at the Coniston Gullies race although it was very hot.  A barbeque on the lake side afterwards was attended by getting for 80 people.

Tomorrow is Kirkby Gala which is a Bofra champs race.  Athletes and families have been invited to stay for the village hog roast, live band and fireworks as part of the jubilee celebrations.

Next Sunday is Kettlewell fell race which with a crossing of the river Wharfe is geeat fun for kids during and after the races.

On Thursday this week is Killington Sports.  Whilst a reasonable drive it’s a great, old fashioned night out during half term at a traditional Lakeland Sports.  These events go back to the 19th century and pre-date amateur athletics – watch out for the handicapping!  A number of Pendle families normally make the journey and the kids win lots of money in flat races as well as running the fell race.
